Vacancy Description: Job title: Technical Support Officer Grade: POA Starting at £38,829 Reporting to: Technical Support Manager Responsible to: Regional Director Location: West Lothian & Project Locations Our client has a legacy spanning over 56 years in procurement and construction and is looking for a Technical Support Officer to provide specialist technical and procurement products and services that help contracting authorities, building contractors and suppliers to deliver publicly funded building projects on time and on budget. Main purpose of job Assist in the delivery of the Clients added value service in conjunction with the Technical Support Manager and wider team. Gain in-depth operational knowledge of the products and services including technical specifications and pricing structures. Carry out visits to customers premises and project sites to ensure projects are delivered to customers satisfaction. Bring together clients and appointed companies to ensure the most effective delivery of projects. Ensure Appointed Companies (AppCos) are complying with their obligations under our framework agreements. Build strong and influential relationships with our Partners and Appointed Companies. Manage, report, and resolve issues that may arise throughout the life of the projects. Provide written reports and a well-documented, clear audit trial on our internal CRM system covering all meetings, communications, activities, and updates. Specific responsibilities of the job Project Support Support the Clients Partners and AppCos by attending in person, project pre-start and progress meetings. Visit sites to monitor progress of projects. Attend meetings in the event of query or complaint concerning an project. Build close working relationships with AppCos through regular meetings and communications. Provide guidance and support to companies interested in being appointed to our procurement solutions. Represent the Client at internal and external events such as Meet the Buyer events, product launches, workshops, and conferences. Support Group and Marketing teams with the preparation of promotional material related to the Clients products and services. Acquire and maintain competence in the use of all relevant operating systems Technical Support Assist the Technical Support Manager with carrying out price validations to ensure contractor prices comply with the rates set out in our framework agreements. Assist the Procurement teams with compiling the required tender documents as part of the call-off service. Assist all stakeholders with technical enquiries in support of the use of all the Clients products and services. Assist Technical Support Manager with factory visits to carry out inspection of products and processes to assess their quality and conformity to specification as part of the tender evaluation process. Support the Technical Support Manger in the review of tender documentation including technical specifications, terms and conditions and pricing schedules. General Requirements Undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post at the discretion of the Technical Support Manager and or the Director Participate in team briefings at Uxbridge or other locations throughout the UK as required by the Group Director. Working Hours: Although the position is 36 hours per week and the Client prides itself on our commitment to their peoples wellbeing and fostering a good work life balance; on occasion hours may be varied and the postholder may be required to work outside of normal business hours to meet the needs of the business. The ideal candidate will be situated within commuting distance of West Lothian PERSON SPECIFICATION The following attributes are ESSENTIAL unless stated. EXPERIENCE Five years experience in a building/construction/housing environment. Understanding of building/construction products and services Working with Microsoft Dynamics systems or other databases QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING Vocational qualification in a building or technical discipline Full drivers license travel across Scotland with occasional overnights will be required. Willing to work towards professional qualification in building / construction. APTITUDES & ABILITIES Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of seniority site staff to director level. Comfortable managing own diary and working on own initiative. Adept at managing information via IT systems. Excellent organisational and time management skills. EXPERIENCE: The following attributes are desirable Previous experience working with housing associations, local authorities, or other public sector organisations. General understanding of public sector procurement. Knowledge of Microsoft BI and/or Microsoft Dynamics. Knowledge from a trade or compliance industry background. APTITUDES & ABILITIES Ability to manage and interpret data in various formats. Comfortable in face-to-face business meetings Strong interpersonal skills, able to present information.
