  • March to October: 07:30 to 17:00
  • Winter Months: 08:00 to 16:00

    The Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced, organised, and people-focused Contracts Manager to join their established soft landscaping and garden maintenance business. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives on building strong client relationships, leading and motivating teams, and ensuring contracts are delivered to the highest possible standard. Success in this role is driven by your ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff alike, proactively solve problems, and manage multiple contracts whilst maintaining exceptional levels of customer satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will become the key link between clients, operational teams, and suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with commercial and domestic clients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact, providing a professional and responsive service at all times.
  • Meet with clients regularly to discuss ongoing contracts, future requirements, and service delivery.
  • Ensure customer expectations are consistently exceeded through excellent communication and attention to detail.
  • Resolve customer queries and concerns promptly, maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Staff Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, supervise, motivate, and support operational teams across multiple contracts.
  • Plan workloads and allocate staff and resources effectively.
  • Carry out regular site visits, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Encourage a positive team culture built around professionalism, quality, and customer service.
  • Identify training and development opportunities for employees.
  • Manage day-to-day staffing issues and support effective problem resolution.
  • Contract & Operational Management
  • Oversee multiple soft landscaping and garden maintenance contracts.
  • Coordinate labour, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Monitor productivity, quality standards, contract performance, and profitability.
  • Carry out regular quality inspections and site audits.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure projects run smoothly.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and contract documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.

    Problem Solving

  • Anticipate operational challenges and implement practical solutions before they impact service delivery.
  • Respond quickly to changing workloads, weather conditions, staffing issues, and customer requests.
  • Make confident decisions whilst maintaining excellent customer service and operational efficiency.

    What Were Looking For

  • Previous experience in Contracts Management, Operations Management, Site
  • Management, or a similar leadership role.
  • Background within soft landscaping, grounds maintenance, horticulture, construction, or facilities management.
  • Proven experience managing and motivating teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong customer service and client management experience.
  • Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and competing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good IT and administrative skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
