Vacancy Description: A position has became available in Irvine for an Operations Manager. The contract is permanent. As the Operations Manager you will be assisting with the leading of the teams responsible for the delivery of a quality service to the companys customers. You will actively be working towards achieving the defined objectives of the company in accordance with their policies, guidelines and procedures whilst always ensuring the Health and Safety of all is safeguarded at all times. You will also be working, with the help of the Contracts Manager, towards learning the skills required in the position of Contracts Manager. Principle Responsibilities: • Assist with leadership of teams of the companys employees responsible for filter refurbishment, media removal, supply and replacement and other services at a variety of locations throughout the country. This includes: - Assisting with the organisation and implementation of daily work onsite with site teams. - Assisting with / and responsibility for local ‘frame-working’ e.g. hire equipment, tipping facilities. - Participation in practical work, i.e. a hands on approach. - Liaising with clients and other operators. - Ensuring that the entire work process is completed according to the companys specification, including the post operation clear up. - Using your own initiative to handle difficult or unexpected situations. - Completion of a daily report/update to be forwarded to head office by previously agreed deadlines. • Involvement in the manufacturing processes as required. • Assisting with the organisation/planning of site teams and logistics. • Involvement in transport, including delivery of media and site required material as well as removal of all wastes off site. • Conveying a professional and quality attitude to clients, other operators and members of the public. • Helping with the implementation of quality and management systems within the company. • To act as a first line of contact between the companys management and site-based supervisors & staff. • Complying with and ensuring your own team’s compliance with health and safety regulations and recommendations. • Supporting and guiding all team members. • Traveling to various site locations to perform duties. • Actively assisting in the day to day training and development of subordinates and colleagues by passing on knowledge through on and off the job training. • Providing regular feedback to subordinates on their performance and development. • Regularly make suggestions to improve processes within the company. • To ensure all equipment used on site is PAT tested, kept in a good quality condition and not mistreated in any way. • To report back to management about any issue regarding on-site personnel. • Assistance with initiation and handling of tender enquiries. • Assistance with the generation of quotations and tender costing. • Contributing to the production of drafts and final design drawings. • Sourcing competitive quotes from approved suppliers for site health & safety, plant and associated equipment. • Assisting with the implementation of C.D.M. files. • Overseeing site operations with regard to meeting contract and company specifications. • Assisting with undertaking method statements and risk assessments for planned operations on site. • Planning the work and identifying the scope of the work for contracts undertaken. • To visit/attend sites on a regular basis carrying out ‘spot checks’ on the work being undertaken and raising any concerns with the supervisors in charge. • Undertaking other such duties, as required by senior management. Essential Skills/Experience: • At lest 1 year previous experience within a managerial position. • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures. • A valid UK Driving Licence. Hours: Full-Time, specific times TBD. Pay Rate: £30,000 to £40.000 per year DOE.
